IPv6 support status?
In view of the news about exhaustion of IPv4 addresses in Asia and Pacific Basin, what is the current status of IPv6 support for domains hosted by Rotmax (including my domains)?

Hi, Right now IPV6 is enabled for dedicated servers only. We are working on implementing IPV6 support for our shared servers and shared hosting accounts. If you have urgent demand for this on your shared plan, I would recommend contacting our support team directly, I believe they would be able to help you out with this. |

RE: IPv6 support status?
I believe there is no reason to worry about exhaustion of IPv4 addresses in Asia and Pacific Basin or in the world at all, as IPV4 will be around for the next couple decades or so, besides that our IPV4 ranges already secured to us and won't change
![]() Besides all this, Rotmax does fully support IPV6 on all our servers, and beginning of May 2011 will also support on all Shared Hosting Servers, including yours. Despite the fact, that we do support IPV6, most of ISPs do not fully support IPV6, what is supported today is IPV6 to IPV4 tunneling. Which means lower performance. In addition, the way IPV6 supported today is by groups like Freenet6 that allocated IPV6 addresses and thus the routing is being performed through their routers, which again means performance degradation. To summarize all said above, there is not much benefit in moving to IPV6 today, as it is still evolving. In order to obtain your Server IPV6 address please open a HelpDesk ticket and our Support Stuff will provide you with your sever IP6 address. For security reasons we do not advertising our servers IPs here. You will need to add an AAAA record to your domain in order for it to resolve to an IPV6 address. If your domain registered and managed by Rotmax then we will do it on your behalf. If you have any further questions feel free to replay to this thread or contact our Support Team directly.
